Guest Speaker:  Lynda Holler

Living and Learning God’s Truth Through Both the Joys and the Sorrows

     Lynda Holler is a cradle Catholic and at a young age began praying to God for wisdom, believing that if she made wise choices her life would be good. But life is messy and as a young adult she began to learn that our lives are impacted by more than our own choices. Eight months into her newlywed year, her handsome, NYC Firefighter husband, was diagnosed with oral cancer. Throughout the 21 challenging years that followed, Lynda and her family relied on their Catholic faith, prayer, the Sacraments, and supportive clergy and parishioners to sustain them. God’s graces poured forth; and although they did not get the miraculous healing they longed for, God answered Lynda’s prayer to understand the mysterious teaching of Redemptive Suffering, helping them see good that comes from suffering and drawing them into a closer personal relationship with Jesus.

     Lynda’s experiences inspired her to author My Name is Kenny I Can’t Talk, revealing that every one of us makes an indelible impact on the world right up to our natural deaths. She currently works as Director of Discipleship at St. Lawrence O’Toole Parish in Brewster, NY and advocates in NY State against Physician Assisted Suicide legislation.
